Karen Baker created SOHO Productivity Solutions, a Houston-based organizing and productivity consulting firm, in 2011. She combines innovative digital tools with proven organizational principles to develop tailored productivity systems for her clients

“I love the challenge of creating the perfect solution that puts my clients in the best position to achieve their goals by selecting the right tools to take advantage of their resources, talents, & preferences.”

With an impressive academic background—a sociology degree from Duke University, a JD from the University of Houston Law Center, and a master’s in sports management from the University of San Francisco—Karen brings a multidisciplinary approach to productivity consulting.

Her methodology draws from each field: “Sociology taught me how environments shape behavior. My legal education honed my critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. And my sports career instilled the principles and value of effective teamwork, providing evidence that the right combination of components can be as crucial as the individual elements themselves.”

Before starting SOHO Productivity Solutions, Karen spent a decade in sports operations and media relations. She remains an avid sports fan, particularly passionate about Duke basketball and her hometown Houston Astros.

A respected leader in her field, Karen has served as president of the Houston chapter of the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals (NAPO) and will assume the role of NAPO National President in May 2025. She maintains active membership in both the Houston and Virtual chapters of the organization, as well as the National Association of Black Professional Organizers (NABPO).
